High-end Fitouts
Bespoke joinery, dead-flush cabinetry, integrated appliances and concealed hardware. Detailed for architects, executed on site.
Custom Carpentry & Coatings is a Whitsundays-based workshop delivering high-end residential and commercial fitouts, renovations and specialist wall finishes across greater North Queensland. We build homes, bars, restaurants, clubs, cafés and retail spaces with the same considered eye — from private residences on Hamilton Island to full commercial fitouts like the open-air Lovers Cove cocktail bar.
We work directly with homeowners, architects and interior designers on projects where the detail matters — dead-flush joinery, hand-troweled Venetian plaster, seamless micro-cement floors and walls, and the kind of precision caulking that lets a room read as one continuous surface.
Every job is quoted, scheduled and finished by the same hands. No subcontracted shortcuts, no rushed edges.

Whole-home and single-room renovations — from Queenslander restorations to contemporary coastal builds. Careful sequencing, clean sites, honest timelines.
Authentic lime-based Venetian plaster — Marmorino, Grassello and Stucco Veneziano — applied and burnished by hand for depth, sheen and a finish that only improves with age.
Continuous cement-based coatings for floors, walls, benchtops and wet areas. Waterproof, seamless and considered — perfect for bathrooms, kitchens and living spaces.
Bars, clubs, restaurants, cafés and retail — designed for the hard yards of hospitality. Solid bar joinery, banquette seating, back-of-house that works, and shop-front detailing that lasts. Built to trade every night and still look sharp on year five.
Home bars, cellars, media rooms and outdoor entertainment pavilions. Fluted joinery, backlit shelving, integrated appliances and cinematic lighting — built to host.
Battened, slatted and VJ feature walls and ceilings in oak, spotted gum or blackbutt. Rhythmic, warm, and quietly dramatic — a signature detail for any high-end space.
Hardwood decks, pergolas, privacy screens and outdoor rooms built for the Queensland climate. Concealed fixings, honest timber and detailing that ages well.
Working from architect drawings or a Pinterest board — we help translate a look into buildable, warranted detail: substrate, sequence, product and finish.
Applied in thin layers of lime and marble dust, burnished by hand until the surface catches light like polished stone. Breathable, mould- resistant and quietly luxurious.
A 2–3mm cement-based coating that bonds to almost any substrate — tile, plasterboard, concrete, ply or old benchtops. The dated surface stays where it is; micro-cement goes over the top in one continuous, waterproof, joint-free finish.
We apply the Decora collection — lime-based microcement and Venetian plasters, crafted in Sicily, Italy since 2004. Proudly supplied by MVP Products, Caloundra — Queensland's exclusive Decora distributor.

Master bedroom feature wall — Nalani, Airlie Beach
We used Jason for carpentry work during the renovation of our apartment in Airlie Beach and were extremely happy with the finished result.
I had a very clear vision for what I wanted to achieve in the master bedroom and Jason understood it straight away, offering ideas and practical suggestions along the way before executing it exactly as I'd envisaged. The result completely transformed the room and was exactly the look I was hoping for.
I also really appreciated Jason's attention to detail across the renovation as a whole. As we don't live locally and couldn't always be onsite, he took the time to flag areas that still needed attention before the renovation was completed, making it much easier for our property manager to have everything followed up and finished properly.
We'd happily recommend Jason to anyone looking for quality carpentry and renovation work in the Whitsundays.
Tell us a little about the project. We'll come back as soon as possible with next steps.
